ballers

Nicole and I are hosting an inauguration ball for our town's democrat club. We'll be clearing all the furniture out of our backroom for maximum dancing. I need to put together a playlist. There are some obvious picks--"Revolution" by The Beatles and "Don't Stop" by Fleetwood Mac--that reflect the theme. There are artists like Jay-Z and Aretha Franklin who ought to be represented due to their support for Barack Obama.

Any suggestions? What songs get people dancing? What songs represent the historic moment?

What about Kool and the Gang's "Celebration"? Also, Barack loves Stevie Wonder, so I'd consider including something by him. Hope this helps. Sounds like fun!

"It's a Hit" by Rilo Kiley is a little Bush-esque but it works if you're celebrating the end of a lame regime and the beginning of a gloooorious new future!
